The Bker Barlow Castle Burg 113941 is a classic gentleman’s knife. Its design looks friendly and traditional. The Barlow pattern has been produced for many years by many brands. Few, however, are able to create such a nice and subtle Barlow like Bker. With this Barlow Bker took another step back in time. The blade is namely made from C1 carbon steel. Not stainless, but like how they used to make it. Even easier to sharpen razor-sharp, which is a great advantage. Carbon steel also forms a patina in time. It changes colour because of fruit acids and moisture. That is why a couple drop of oil once in a while will keep it in great shape. Bker helped the blade out with a coarse stonewashed finish. ## Castle Burg – Schloss Burg edition This is a special edition of the famous Bker pocket knife: the Schloss Burg-edition. Castle Burg is a centuries-old castle in Solingen, Germany, not far from the Bker workshop. The castle was built on the remains of a 10th century fort and was completed in 1133. It is one of the largest castles in the west of Germany and throughout the centuries the inhabitants of Schloss Burg fulfilled important roles. Take, for instance, Count Engelbert II, arch bishop of Cologne. During the renovations parts of the oak frame of Schloss Burg were replaced, and these centuries-old parts were used by Bker to produce this handle. A real piece of history within reach! Only 1133 pieces of this knife were produced. A reference to the year the castle was finished: 1133. Each piece is adorned with a number and a Bker shield with *Baumwerk* logo completes the whole. You open it with two hands and when opened a slipjoint will lock the blade. Please note: it won’t completely block the blade like a backlock would!
