Book – The Prize for Girls & Boys

Description Hardcover Book Dated & Published in 1917, with an inscription inside reads, “Wishing Jack many happy returns of the day from Auntie Bella, 1918.”  World War One Era.  Advertising in the front and back sections have references to the war effort.  The back cover features a Pears soap advert.  210 pages including 12 coloured pictures.  Contents page at front.  Measures 18cm x 23.5cm x 2cm.  The golly on the front cover has been modelled on Steiff’s original felt doll Golliwogg – a popular play toy of the time – made in Germany, using English Florence Upton’s character from her Peg Doll Book series.
