With its optimized profile shape, fiber layout and spoke holes, it offers the driver more vertical compliance while preventing any material fatigue. In addition, the new M525 uses the patent-pending Wide Hookless rim flanges, which significantly increase punch-through protection, so that they can be driven with the modern, lightweight XC tires at significantly reduced risk of punctures and other damage. ENVE carbon rims are engineered by ENVE in the US and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the Utah headquarters. At ENVE, everything is focused on harnessing the benefits of carbon and eliminating its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rim were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material thicknesses. This principle was perfected in the spoke holes by continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluinserts, as they are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
