The Amare Knives Paragon is a unique pocket knife, designed by the German knife maker Ulrich Hennicke and made by Real Steel knives. At first glance the Paragon looks like a fairly ordinary pocket knife. This couldn’t be more from the truth The Paragon has been enhanced with the new patented and very innovative A-joint locking mechanism! The A-joint mechanism works like a slipjoint. It is located in the front part of the handle underneath the carbon fibre and can only be seen when you take the knife apart. The A-joint mechanism is shaped like the letter V of which the two ends press down on the blade. Both ends have been enhanced with a semi-circular cut-out. At the part where the blade rotates around the pivot a round rod has been placed on the outside of the blade. When opened and when closed it falls into one of the cut-outs of the A-joint mechanism. Because the sping that locks the knife when opened applies more pressure than the spring that locks the knife when closed, the knife is easier to open than close. Incredibly innovative! Another great advantage is that the A-joint mechanism is completely hidden inside the handle. As such no dirt or dust can get caught in the locking mechanism. Amare knives chose N690 steel for the blade. A great type of steel and excellent for a pocket knife. You can easily open the Pargon with the tight nailnick which is located at the back of the blade. You can easily reach it because of the finger groove at the deep carry pocket clip. All in all the Amare Knives paragon is a stunning and compact pocket knife. Ulrich Hennicke designed the Paragon keeping the strict European knife laws in mind that forbid a locking-knife in many places.
