The Benchmade Bailout 537GY-1 is a super light-weight and solid pocket knife. The 537GY-1 Bailout is a larger version of the famous Benchmade Bugout. One of the best EDC knives ever produced, designed for hikers who pay attention to every gram. This improved version of the Bailout is, without a doubt, another Benchmade home run. The first thing you notice is the handle. It is made from top-quality aluminium instead of grivory. The result is a more solid, less flexible handle. Benchmade enhanced the scales with a diamond pattern for additional grip and green anodization for a little extra flair. Benchmade also added a glass breaker to the backspacer. Benchmade used CPM M4-steel, instead of CPM 3V. A type of tool steel that retains its sharpness well. M4 is also really tough and, when compared to other types of super steel, relatively easy to sharpen. The only thing you need to pay attention to is rust: CPM M4 isn’t corrosion resistant. To counterbalance this, Benchmade enhanced the blade with a grey Cerakote coating. This version of the Bailout is enhanced with a partially serrated edge. With it you can tackle any piece of rope or cardboard because the serrations work like a saw. The 537GY-1 Bailout is a part of the Benchmade black class collection, and designed as a tactical knife for first responders and soldiers. This is clear when you look at the blade. The tip of the blade has a tanto shape, perfect for self-defence and penetrating tasks. The Benchmade 537GY-1 Bailout is enhanced with a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip.
