The Benchmade Proper 318-2 is the first ever slipjoint made by Benchmade. You open this gentleman’s knife with two hands and it doesn’t have a lock: a slipjoint. This version of the proper got quite the upgrade. The blade is namely made from premium S90V-steel, and the handle from carbon fibre. The S90V steel ensures that the blade retains its sharpness for a long time. Only few types of steel can beat that. The blade has a classic design. The contours in no way resemble the rest of the modern Benchmade range. The clippoint blade you see here might remind you of the classic Barlow-style traditionals. Within this category of slipjoints you won’t find a lot of pocket knives enhanced with such a great type of steel. In addition, many enthusiasts will appreciate that Benchmade gave the Proper a stop-pin that prevents the spring from closing. It definitely fixes a problem many had with other simple slipjoints.
